Prof. Sujankumar Sengupta

Prof. Sujankumar Sengupta is a Senior Professor in the Department of Theoretical Astrophysics at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bengaluru. His research focuses on transit photometry, transmission spectroscopy, light curve analysis, and polarimetry of exoplanets and brown dwarfs. He pioneered theoretical scattering polarimetry models to probe exoplanetary atmospheres without direct imaging. His research group models transmission and reflected spectra of gas giant & terrestrial exoplanets and develops innovative techniques to detect exomoons around self-luminous giant exoplanets.
