Biography

Prof. Govind S. Krishnaswami is a Senior Professor of Physics at Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI). He completed his Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Rochester under S. G. Rajeev, and held prestigious fellowships including a Marie Curie Fellowship with Nobel Laureate Gerard 't Hooft at Utrecht University, an EPSRC Fellowship at Durham University, and a Ramanujan Fellowship at CMI. He was awarded the 1999 Leroy Apker Award by the American Physical Society (APS). His research spans non-perturbative quantum field theory, matrix models, fluid & plasma dynamics, solitons, and integrable systems. He is also the author of the textbook 'Classical Mechanics: From Particles to Continua and Regularity to Chaos'.
